Summary
The solids Control Technician is responsible for the maintenance of the Precision Rentals Solids Control Product Line and associated equipment both in the shop and field.
Responsibilities
- Daily communication with supervisor regarding both shop and fieldwork
- Completion of timely and accurate paperwork, including daily safety meetings and work orders, as well as weekly routine maintenance and service checklists
- Rig in, rig out, repair, and maintain solids control equipment that includes Centrifuges, Gorman Rupp Pumps, motors, various sizes of hose, and VFD Panels. Ensuring equipment is maintained to current company standards
- Troubleshoot and repair minor issues on location
- Setting the standard of safety excellence by working with management to ensure Precision continues as a leader in safety (“Life Saving Actions”)
- Assist the Precision Rentals team when needed with rig ups of a wide variety of equipment, as well as maintenance of equipment
- Cleaning, repairing, and painting equipment
- Other general shop tasks as assigned
- Sit-in work, both camp and non-camp work, as required
- Occasional out-of-town travel is required
- Requirement to work overtime as well as participate in an on-call rotation
- Required to operate Heavy Equipment (i.e., front-end loaders.)

Strong written and verbal communication
Excellent teamwork skills
Ability to adapt and learn new technologies
Strong mechanical aptitude and background
Valid Class 5 drivers license and current drivers abstract
Current WHMIS, TDG, H2S, CSO and FIRST AID
Excellent safety record and demonstrated commitment to a safe work environment
Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and able to work independently and able to work well with others in a team setting
Computer literate, including effective working skills in MS Word, Excel, email
Must be highly motivated, and be able to lead by example

Education
High school diploma or equivalent experience is required
Completion of college and/or vocational and technical training is considered an asset
Experience
Minimum 2 years experience with centrifuge/mud systems
Mechanical knowledge of centrifuges and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance
