The Cyber Security Analyst supports the development and implementation of technical security controls to protect Precision Drilling’s information systems and data. This role contributes to the organization’s cybersecurity strategy through handson technical work and close collaboration with IT, security, and business teams.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Monitor and secure the computing environment to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise systems using tools such as Microsoft Defender and Intune
  • Partner daily with a thirdparty Managed Detection & Response (MDR) provider to support threat monitoring, configuration management, and incident response
  • Proactively identify security risks, support investigations and incident response, and collaborate with IT teams to securely configure and harden systems and applications
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, conduct security assessments, ensure compliance with security standards, and contribute to ongoing security improvements
  • Communicate technical security concepts clearly to stakeholders, build strong crossfunctional relationships, and provide reporting and metrics to support leadership decisionmaking

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Postsecondary education in Information Technology or 5+ years of experience in a Cyber Security or Network Analyst role, supported by relevant professional certifications
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft enterprise environments, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra, and cloud/onprem security controls
  • Proven expertise in advanced threat detection and response, network security, privileged access management (CyberArk preferred), and security tooling
  • Strong knowledge of security governance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 270xx, CMMC, SOX), with experience leading security initiatives and projects
  • Analytical, businessminded security professional with strong problemsolving skills, able to translate cyber risk into business impact; exposure to Oil & Gas, OT security, DevSecOps, virtualization, or SAP environments is an asset
