Summary

The Analyst, Fixed Assets, will report to the Manager, Fixed Assets. The responsibilities will be as follows:

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and reconciliation of fixed assets
  • Record/process fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions, and transfers in the accounting system
  • Assisting with cross border asset transfers
  • Review and analyze fixed asset additions to ensure compliance with current capitalization policy
  • Create Project/WBS elements, ensuring they are approved in accordance with corporate policies, tracking and managing costs/spending, and closing in a timely manner
  • Complete month end settlements, depreciation, continuities and other related reports for assets, and provide them to corporate controllers for financial statements
  • Provide Operations with guidance on Project/WBS elements and work orders including reporting, classification, and training
  • Assist with annual budgets and forecasts
  • Assist in ensuring all internal controls are adhered to and in compliance with SOX and completing internal and external audit requests
  • Issue net book value reports (ad hoc reports) upon request
  • Monthly journal entries and accruals relating to Project/WBS elements, work orders and disposals
  • Performing special projects as required

 

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Knowledge of accounting procedures, financial reporting, and information systems

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills

Proven ability to perform under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Experience in SAP would be an asset

Organized with an ability to balance multiple projects in the face of competing priorities

Excellent interpersonal skills and able to build relationships with all levels of the organization

 

Education

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required

High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent

 

Experience

1-3 years of related finance or accounting experience

Oilfield services industry experience would be an asset
