  • Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in the Calgary area, as Precision does not provide internship housing.
  • By May 4, 2026, applicants must have completed at least their first year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting). 

 


Summary

The Digital Marketing & Media Management Intern will support Precision Drilling’s Marketing & Communications department with a strong emphasis on digital asset management, analytics, and competitive technology research. This role is ideal for a student who wants hands-on experience in digital marketing infrastructure, research, and data-driven storytelling.

 

In addition to their specialized focus, the intern will also support general marketing activities, including event coordination, swag management, content posting, and cross-team communication.

 

Responsibilities

  • Organize, categorize, and upload digital media assets (photos, videos, graphics) into the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system
  • Assist in developing consistent naming, tagging, and metadata practices to improve long-term asset discoverability
  • Coordinate and organize the incoming digital assets from the field and various providers
  • Assist in digital analytics reporting, pulling platform metrics, and supporting performance insights
  • Complete a competitive technology analysis and develop a maintainable dashboard comparing Precision’s products to industry competitors
  • Work closely with the Marketing team on data collection, performance, and insights that support sales, technology, operations, and marketing functions
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of local marketing events
  • Support swag inventory tracking, ordering, and distribution for both field and office
  • Help schedule, draft, and post social media content as directed by the Marketing & Communications Specialist
  • Provide general administrative and organizational support across the marketing team
  • Collaborate with cross-border team members to ensure consistency between Canadian and U.S. initiatives

 

Knowledge & Skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Analytical thinker with an interest in digital metrics and competitive intelligence

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across locations

Comfortable navigating large volumes of digital content

Adaptability and eagerness to learn new systems and workflows

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud or DAM systems is an advantage

 

Education

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field

 

Experience

Familiarity with digital platforms, analytics tools, or asset libraries is an asset

Experience with Excel, Power BI, or other reporting tools is beneficial
