The following restrictions apply to all internship candidates:  

  • Applicants must be available for a non-negotiable start date of Wednesday May 7, 2025 

  • Applicants must be 18 years or older. 

  • Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in the Calgary area, as Precision does not provide internship housing.  

  • By May 5, 2025, applicants must have completed at least their first year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting).   

 
Summary  

This position will contribute to the success of Precision’s IT Governance Strategy by providing support to various areas of the IT Department. The focus of this role is to be an active participant in the areas of procurement, coordination, finance support, working practices, and continuous improvement with adherence to company policy and procedure. 

 

Responsibilities  

Procurement: 

  • Assist with the procurement and assignment of Mobility assets for Canada & US 

  • Compare prices amongst various vendors to make sound purchasing decisions 

  • Works within a planned budget to purchase goods and services 

  • Maintains Purchasing Requests/Tickets in ServiceNow to secure approval of the items being requested 

  • Creates SAP Purchase Requisitions & SAP Purchase Orders to secure approval to spend against budget 

  • Coordinates & tracks vendor deliveries ensuring timelines are met & the quality of goods received is acceptable 

  • Performs ongoing review of the Contracts database for upcoming renewals and works with Managers to ensure timely renewal or cancellations are processed 

  • At all times, ensure all processes are Internal Audit and Company Policy compliant with no exception. 

  • Contribute to accurate inventory tracking by the Service Desk 

 

Finance Support: 

  • Reviews vendor invoices for accuracy and processes goods received in the SAP system, allowing Accounts Payable to process payment 

  • Assist with month-end activities while adhering to deadlines 

  • Tracks accrued items to ensure timely processing is completed in the following month 

  • Assists the Team Lead in the quarterly budget review for various areas of Corporate Services 

  • Other support functions as required 

 

Governance Support: 

  • Coordination of the annual review of Policy, Process & Procedure documents 

  • Coordinate Change Advisory Board meetings for IT projects/initiatives & document CAB findings for ServiceNow Change record 

 

Knowledge & Skills  

Proficiency with entire Microsoft Suite is required  

SAP System training will be provided  

Highly organized, detail-oriented, reliable and responsible  

Works well under pressure to meet deadlines  

Able to respectfully handle confidential information  

Eager to take on new tasks with the ability to adapt quickly  

Ability to work effectively with all levels of Leadership Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

Education  

Pursuing or recently graduated from a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Management or related studies with an aptitude for working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment  

 

Experience  

Proficiency in math is required to analyze pricing, total spending, and budget review
