The following restrictions apply to all internship candidates:

  • Applicants must be available for a non-negotiable start date of Wednesday May 6, 2026.
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older.
  • Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in the Calgary area, as Precision does not provide internship housing.
  • By May 4, 2026, applicants must have completed at least their first year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting). 

 


Summary

This summer position will give a law student valuable, real-world experience, as well as provide support to the Legal team at Precision Drilling Corporation.  The intern will gain exposure to various functions within the Legal Department during a 4-month work term and participate in projects to support initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various projects and responsibilities associated with corporate litigation, regulatory filings, policy revisions, anti-corruption/anti-bribery compliance, contractual matters, insurance inquiries, etc.
  • Investigate facts and research case law to help in litigation or investigation matters
  • Assist with preparing and editing documents, contracts, and correspondence
  • Provide general support to the contract and legal teams
  • Will be relied upon to assist the legal and contract teams in daily tasks and projects
  • Other support and ad hoc duties as required

 

Knowledge & Skills

Must have strong academic performance, achieving a B grade average (law school and undergrad transcripts should be provided)

Must be proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Strong work ethic

Ability to deal with private and confidential corporate information

Proven organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, must be a team player

Excellent writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy

Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize

Resourceful and demonstrated ability to take initiative and exercise own judgment

 

Education

Must have completed the first year of law school to be eligible for consideration

 

Experience

Minimum 1 year of related work experience in an office environment
