At Rostel, the Apprentice, Millwright IV, will assist and learn alongside the Journeymen Millwrights in installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting oilfield rig machinery and mechanical equipment. They will work on advanced and complex components and projects to further improve their knowledge and skill set.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Assemble, install, align, dismantle, and relocate oilfield and mechanical equipment using precision tools, layout plans, and industry‑standard rigging and lifting techniques
  • Perform precision measurements, bearing fits, gear and shaft alignments, power‑transmission setups, pipe‑strain corrections, and equipment testing with necessary adjustments
  • Maintain, service, and repair pumps, seals, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, compressors, and basic PLC‑controlled equipment
  • Operate machining tools, power tools, and hand tools to fabricate, modify, or repair components while following drawings, measurements, and safety standards
  • Conduct routine maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and general shop housekeeping to support safe and efficient operations

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • High school diploma/GED plus completion or progress toward fourth‑period vocational training
  • 4+ years of shop or manufacturing experience, with strong skills in reading blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
  • Proficient with machining equipment, hand/power tools, Oxy‑Fuel and Arc‑Welding equipment, and knowledgeable in weld symbols and basic metallurgy
  • Strong safety mindset with solid understanding of OHS regulations, WHMIS, PPE requirements, and the ability to work independently or under supervisor direction
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and experience in service‑oriented environments
