Summary
At Rostel Industries, Journeyman Millwrights are responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting oilfield rig machinery and mechanical equipment. The Journeyman Welder is expected to act as a liaison to the Lead Hand to ensure that all products and projects are produced and completed in a high-quality and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Assembly of newly fabricated oilfield equipment
- Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
- Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments
- Perform predictive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis and follow through with repairing or replacing defective parts when necessary
- Service and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and programmable logic controls
- Must have the ability to conduct precision measurement and inspection of mechanical components
- Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary oilfield and mechanical equipment for repair according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, dollies, and forklifts to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations
- Apply mechanical repair principles and procedures to make sure that machinery runs properly
- Set up and adjust complex machinery for new patterns and products
- Confer with management to recommend equipment changes and modifications and evaluate new equipment
- Assist with standard shop housekeeping and upkeep on an ad hoc basis
- Must be willing to work in and participate in safety conscious environment
- Must be motivated and have good communication skills
- Candidate must have a positive attitude with the ability to work well with others and on their own
- Produce quality products based on engineering drawings with minimal defects
Knowledge & Skills

Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as follow the direction of supervisors
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to train and mentor apprentices
Background in a service-oriented facility
Strong attention to detail
Have a solid understanding of OHS regulations, WHMIS, and the importance of PPE on the worksite
Education
A High School Education or GED equivalent is required
Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program in Millwrighting or Industrial Mechanics
Experience
Completion 72-month minimum experience and 9360 combined working hours
Must hold Registered Red Seal Journeyman Millwright Certification
4+ Years of experience in an Industrial Mechanical capacity
