Operations Engineer

The Operations Engineer will leverage their extensive engineering background and available resources to drive the development and implementation of innovative equipment, technologies, and processes. In this role, you will be involved in all phases of Mechanical Engineering projects—from initial concept through commissioning—to deliver solutions that meet operational objectives and comply with relevant standards.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Coordinate complex engineering projects, create detailed plans, define requirements, set schedules, and ensure technical activities are completed on time and within budget
  • Review and refine existing equipment, practices, and processes; recommend upgrades for improved safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
  • Assess novel technologies to determine feasibility, performance, and potential ROI
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Procurement, Marketing, HSE, EAM) to ensure timely project delivery, high-quality outcomes, and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members, offering guidance on technical challenges and professional growth

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • B. Sc.in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered as a P.Eng. with APEGA
  • 5+ years of practical experience with the design, fabrication and commissioning of equipment and structural components in the drilling, mining and/or construction industries
  • Expert level of proficiency with:
    • Autodesk suite of CAD products (Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD)
    • Mechanical analysis software (Inventor FEA, ANSYS, and SAFI)
    • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
  • Ability to travel within North America as projects require (~20%)
