The Painter supports the Coatings department by performing surface preparation, blasting, and applying industrial coatings to drilling rig components while meeting quality and safety standards. This role requires hands‑on experience with coating systems and equipment, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work efficiently in a team‑oriented, production‑focused environment.

DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Perform surface preparation, shot blasting, and apply industrial coatings to drilling rig components using airless and pressure pot spray systems
- Operate, maintain, and inspect blasting, spraying, and support equipment, ensuring coatings meet quality and specification standards
- Interpret and follow technical data sheets (TDS), coating specifications, and safety procedures
- Safely move materials and equipment (including forklift operation), communicate job progress with supervisors, and support team operations as needed
- Work in a safety focused, production driven environment, demonstrating effective communication skills, a positive attitude, self motivation, and flexibility to work overtime to meet performance targets
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- High school diploma required, with hands on experience using urethane and two component paint products
- Proven experience with airless and pressure pot spray equipment and shot blasting techniques
- Forklift experience is an asset
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail
- Self motivated team player with effective communication skills, able to work under tight timelines and meet performance targets
