Summary

The Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator will report to the Purchasing & Materials Supervisor. This role is responsible for the procurement of materials and inventory cycle control. They must have strong customer service and negotiation skills, be detail orientated and highly organized.

 

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate the purchase of goods and services based on specific customer-defined requirements.
  • Source vendors and negotiate prices of goods.
  • Review vendor pricing and recommend potential sources of cost reduction.
  • Work with financial systems, in particular, the purchasing modules.
  • Work with internal and external customers daily and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure alignment within company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Work with the inventory group to forecast demands, maintain stock levels and prevent stock-outs.
  • Assist with the implementation of regularly scheduled cycle counts and reconciliation. 
  • Place purchase orders upon regular review of customer and site requirements.
  • Communicate with vendors to provide pricing for upgrades and options.
  • Review and process claims against suppliers.
  • Maintain good working relationships with Rostel’s primary supplier base while developing relationships with other suppliers.
  • Ensure acceptable delivery requirements for Rostel production orders.
  • Use the engineering bill of material requisitions for production orders.
  • Match incoming goods or services as per the requirements of their purchase orders.
  • Additional various duties.

Ability to work well with others while under minimal supervision.

 

Education

A degree or diploma in a related discipline is considered an asset.

 

Experience

Previous Procurement and Inventory/Warehouse experience of at least 3-5 years.

Experience with SAP as an asset.
