Summary
The SAP Development Intern will assist in the design, development, creation, and support of integration solutions within SAP and Precision’s multi-platform environment. This role will contribute to the delivery and maintenance of solutions that support business objectives while learning to provide effective support and analysis for identified business applications/requirements. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to participate in larger projects that involve integration with other applications.
The primary responsibilities of this role include supporting applications that utilize various integration technologies (e.g., PO, CPI, Integration Suite), as well as ABAP and Fiori (UI5), and learning web development technologies by building forms and user interfaces. The successful candidate will collaborate with Business/Functional Analysts, IT resources and business partners throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle. The intern will also learn the importance of process, change control, security, and software stability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with the SAP Development team to troubleshoot and support products and integrations across the SAP landscape
- Analyzing business requirements for design, development, testing and delivery of software solutions under guidance
- Participating in special projects and initiatives, providing input and learning during design and development sessions
- Learn and follow the Precision SDLC to define, plan and manage releases of applications, updates, and enhancements following best practices
- Liaise with other IT teams (infrastructure, mobility, M365) in support of requirements gathering, streamlining user experience and back-end system integration
- Documenting work within ITIL methodology including Incident, Service Request, Change Management, and Release Management
- Gain exposure to acting as a technical resource for identified applications, and sharing knowledge with peers
- Utilizing best practices for application development in the context of business operations under supervision
Knowledge & Skills
This role requires strong communication, collaboration, and technical skills
Ability to diagnose issues and recommend improvements
Ability to work effectively on tight deadlines and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Good oral and written communication skills for clear documentation and interaction
Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers and peers
Education
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related studies
Experience
Interest or basic knowledge of SAP, ABAP and integration software
Exposure or experience in .NET, Java, ABAP, or other object-oriented languages
Familiarity with web services (REST, SOAP, WSDL, ODATA)
Nice to have experience in SAP Fiori (UI5), BOPF, FPM, SAP Workflow
Knowledgeable in Agile Development practices, scrums, and release management
Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is an asset
