The Team Lead, IT SAP Development, will be involved in implementing and supporting SAP and non-SAP Business applications and integrations hosted on-premises and in the SAP Business Technology Platform. The successful candidate is a problem solver, collaborator, mentor, and strategist with expertise in SAP. They are self-accountable with a strong desire to build mature software development practices, advance their leadership abilities, and ensure growth of technical skills amongst the team. 



  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching, mentorship, and collaboration with a Solution Architect. 

  • Collaborate with others in IT, including Functional Analysts, Basis, Security, Solution Architect, Infrastructure, and Leadership to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain business applications. 

  • Organize and prioritize assignments for Developers to ensure delivery in a timely manner and expectations with stakeholders are met. 

  • Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing practices and following processes. 

  • Own software development processes and documentation, recommend improvements, and guide system solutions to improve business outcomes. 

  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team. 

  • Contribute to the design, effort estimation, development, and testing of RICEFW objects. 

  • Establish standards and participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code. 

  • Working with the Release Manager, package and support deployment of monthly releases. 

  • Provide second and third-level end-user support and guidance where required. 

  • Conduct semiannual performance reviews with team members while providing continuous feedback via team meetings and one-on-ones.

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of SAP development experience 



Experience writing new and modifying existing RICEFW objects. 

Excellent understanding of ABAP and experience with several SAP modules (FI/CO, PM, MM, SD, HR, PY). 

Preference for candidates with previous leadership experience and a background in FIO/SAPUI5, interface development with PO/PI, Cloud Integration, or Integration Suite, and/or SAP Workflow. 

Previous experience working in the Oil & Gas industry is an asset.
