This position will work closely with the Assistant Controller and report directly to the Senior Analyst, assisting with daily bank reconciliations, month-end reporting and analysis, budget and forecast planning, and year-end reporting requirements.
DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting for Tax and Corporate Accounting
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, explaining budget and forecast variances and identifying trends and key performance drivers
- Perform detailed general ledger, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with Field Operations and management to investigate expense variances and provide actionable financial insights
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, SOX control testing, ad hoc reporting, and special projects as needed
- Demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while adhering to company policies and procedures
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting preferred
- Proven income statement analysis skills to support monthly close
- Prior oil and gas experience preferred
- Experience with a major ERP System (SAP preferred).
