The Lead Engineer will leverage their extensive engineering background, leadership experience, and available resources to support Precision’s fleet and drive the development and implementation of innovative equipment, technologies, and processes. In this role, you will manage all phases of Mechanical Engineering for project and operations engineering initiatives - from initial concept through commissioning - to deliver solutions that meet operational objectives and comply with relevant standards.

DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Lead and coordinate complex engineering projects — defining requirements, creating detailed plans, setting schedules, and ensuring completion within budget and scope.
- Oversee mid-to-large-scale projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Operations, Procurement, Marketing, HSE, EAM) to align deliverables with organizational goals.
- Review, refine, and implement improvements to equipment, processes, and practices to enhance safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies, using data-driven analysis to assess feasibility, performance, and ROI while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor project teams, support drilling operations with real-time technical guidance, and manage documentation, budgeting, and reporting to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA
- Over 10 years of hands-on experience in the design, fabrication, and commissioning of equipment and structural components within drilling, mining, or construction industries
- Advanced proficiency with Autodesk CAD tools (Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD) and mechanical analysis software (Inventor FEA, ANSYS, SAFI); strong working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and legislation
- Highly motivated and self-directed professional with strong problem-solving, innovation, and collaboration skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and effective at cross-departmental communication
- Willing and able to travel within North America (~10%), hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license, and committed to continuous learning and professional growth
