  • Applicants must be available for a non-negotiable start date of  Monday May 18, 2026
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older.
  • Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in the Houston area as Precision does not provide internship housing. 
  • By May 4, 2026, applicants must have completed at least their first year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting). 

Summary

The Marketing Communications and Research Intern will support Precision Drilling’s Marketing & Communications team with a focus on organizing marketing collateral, managing brochure/version inventories, and supporting market research and reporting. This role is ideal for a student who excels in organization, documentation, and process improvement.  

In addition to their specialized focus, the intern will also support general marketing activities such as event coordination, swag management, content posting, and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

  • Audit existing marketing materials and document gaps, outdated content, and version discrepancies across regions
  • Build and maintain an organized collateral inventory system, mapping where materials exist physically and digitally
  • Upload and categorize marketing documents in SharePoint following consistent naming and version control practices
  • Support the Market Analyst with daily reporting, industry research, and administrative tasks
  • Assist in aligning collateral between the U.S. and Canadian marketing teams to ensure regional consistency
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of local marketing events
  • Support swag inventory tracking, ordering, and distribution for both field and office
  • Help schedule, draft, and post social media content as directed by the Marketing & Communications Specialist
  • Provide general administrative and organizational support across the marketing team.
  • Collaborate with cross-border team members to ensure consistency between Canadian and U.S. initiatives

 

 Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to manage inventory systems and multiple versions of materials
  • Clear communicator with ability to engage across departments and regions
  • Comfortable learning new software and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; Excel and SharePoint and adobe creative suite experience are strong assets
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to handle tasks that support multiple marketing priorities simultaneously

Education

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, Business, Project Management, or related field

Experience

  • Experience with SharePoint, file management systems, or structured documentation is an asset
  • Familiarity with reporting tools or basic analytics is beneficial
