Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for analysis of financial reports and the development of custom reporting, to assist management, leadership, and all departments in analysis of the monthly financial statements. This role requires a high degree of data-driven analytical support, to produce systematically driven meaningful information. The successful candidate needs to be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.  



•    Perform analysis of key business information, develop financial models, and prepare cost projections
•    Working knowledge of financial strategies, strong analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
•    Assist in preparation of Year-end reporting requirements for Tax, Auditors and Corporate Accounting
•    Prepare and post standard journal entries, code corrections, and accrual journal entries as required
•    Assist project teams with financial guidance
•    Assist in the development of accounting process memos
•    Prepare annual and quarterly budgets in support of operational objectives
•    Monthly review of rig P&L in comparison to bid and analysis of variances
•    Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Billings and Accounting staff to ensure revenue and costs are accounted for in the proper period and coded to the proper accounts
•    Provide relevant, accurate and timely financial information to management for decision making
•    Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations
•    Collect and summarize financial data from several institutional databases and systems
•    Create spreadsheets and graphs in Excel as required
•    Monthly review and distribution of Overhead and G&A expense analysis reports to management 
•    Prepare and distribute monthly reports to management explaining variances to Budget/Forecast
•    Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as defined by the operations, management and corporate personnel
•    Comply with and provide recommendations regarding internal controls
•    Complete special projects as directed by the Operations Controller
•    Assist with the month-end close process and willing to work overtime during month-end close if needed
•    Other duties as assigned by the Operations Controller or the Chief Financial Officer

Accounting designation required.

Degree required.

2– 4 years of related accounting experience.

Prior oil and gas experience preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, PDF Editor MS Office applications.

Experience with a major ERP System (SAP required).

Experience in Analysis for Microsoft Office is preferred.

Knowledge of accounting procedures, financial reporting, and information systems.
