The Structural/Mechanical Designer supports the development and implementation of equipment, technologies, and processes by applying sound mechanical engineering principles and available resources. This role is involved in all phases of structural and mechanical engineering projects—from initial concept and design through testing and commissioning—ensuring solutions meet operational objectives and applicable standards.

DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Support small to large-scale mechanical engineering projects, ensuring deliverables align with departmental and organizational goals
- Review and improve existing equipment, practices, and processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Operations, Procurement, HSE, EAM, Marketing) to deliver high‑quality projects on schedule
- Translate concepts into actionable designs and complete technical packages using data‑driven analysis and best practices
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations while maintaining accurate documentation, reporting, and project coordination
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- 7–10 years of hands‑on experience designing, fabricating, and commissioning equipment and structural components in drilling, mining, or construction environments
- Expert proficiency with Autodesk CAD tools (Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD) and mechanical analysis software (Inventor FEA, ANSYS, SAFI)
- Strong working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and legislation, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Highly motivated, self‑directed professional with strong problem‑solving skills, innovation mindset, and advanced Microsoft Office proficiency
- Willingness to travel within North America (~10%), with a valid driver’s license and flexibility to support project and stakeholder needs
