Senior Specialist, Talent Management & Learning

Precision Drilling is seeking a Talent Management & Learning Specialist to support developing and executing our corporate talent management & learning initiatives in alignment with Precision Drilling’s high performance, high value strategy. As a key member of the Talent Management & Learning team, the Talent Management & Learning Specialist will conduct development needs analyses, design and deliver learning programs, identify optimal content and delivery methods, monitor and communicate progress and results to stakeholders, support internal clients, and more. The ideal candidate is an experienced Learning and Development professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for sourcing and implementing innovative solutions that supports Precision’s talent management strategy.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct development needs analysis to identify and prioritize business needs
  • Assess current internal leadership competencies, learning resources, and career development offerings to identify opportunities for enhancement and/or fulfill development requirements
  • Monitor and analyze data and analytics to assess progress and results, and communicate findings to key stakeholders
  • Design engaging learning programs and workshops, prepare materials and resources with detailed instructions, and facilitate various sessions and workshops.
  • Communicate and implement our talent and learning initiatives and objectives across business units, locations, and functional areas.
  • Analyze communications tools, technology, and platforms and identify opportunities to enhance consistency of messaging to support employee development and our talent management and learning initiatives.
  • Engage with external vendors and knowledge experts to identify the optimal resources to support our learning and talent management programs.
  • Create and manage project plans to ensure initiatives are communicated and implemented on time and in line with specifications.
  • Coordinate departmental activities and events, including set up and tracking in the LMS, communicating with participants, preparing materials, preparing instructors and facilitators, and supporting additional logistical and administrative details as required.
  • Assist with administering and providing customer support for our SuccessFactors learning and performance modules.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, organizational development or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate learning & development role
  • Adept at understanding various employee roles and working environments and creating learning programs that align with those requirements
  • Adept at implementing a variety of learning forms and modalities to support engagement and diverse learning styles
  • Experience developing and applying competencies to identify strengths and development needs and measure individual and organizational performance
  • Experience conducting needs analysis to identify skill gaps and create or identify content aligned with development needs
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously and demonstrate resilience in a rapidly evolving professional environment
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced critical thinking skills
  • Ability to utilize technology to achieve efficiency and boost productivity
  • Experience with HRIS Learning and Talent Management modules
  • Exposure to content creation tools (Vyond, Articulate, etc.)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to build strong client and business relationships
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft applications, especially PowerPoint, Teams, and Word

 

Additional Requirements

  • Hybrid work schedule: willing and able to work in the Houston corporate office a minimum of 3 days per week
  • Travel up to 10% of the time to various PD locations
