Talent Acquisition Specialist - Houston, TX

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a dual-purpose role that will spend approximately 50% of their time focused on the recruitment marketing of field-based roles. Approximately 50% will be spent providing strategic full life-cycle recruitment support for non-field-based roles.  Responsibilities include:


  • Support the building and management of the field talent pipeline through specialized recruitment marketing and advertising tailored to each division. Use social media platforms, industry organizations, and other avenues to engage potential candidates.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining recruitment analytics and reporting to senior management.
  • Assist in implementing talent acquisition strategy through strategic marketing in local publications, career fairs, and other creative marketing channels.
  • Drive the hiring process: actively engage with hiring managers, provide ongoing status of requisitions, advise and influence hiring managers throughout the hiring process, and close requisitions in a timely manner. Utilize sourcing tools and techniques to source passive talent, such as online social networking, traditional networking, cold calling, and referrals.
  • Ensure the success of attrition reduction programs through improved selection methods.
  • Represent Precision Drilling’s brand through strong presentation skills, oral and written communication, and customer service.
  • Build and cultivate relationships within the business to maximize internal industry knowledge in the recruitment function.
  • Maximize the efficiency and timeliness of recruitment processes while demonstrating the highest level of quality and integrity to potential hires.
  • Monitor and engage current and potential employees through Precision Drilling’s social media.
  • Ensure and continuously work to enhance a positive candidate experience.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of recruiting tools and providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborate with HR to integrate succession planning data and rig forecasting data to establish geographic workforce plans.
  • Travel less than 10% may be required.
  • Responsible for advising and guiding hiring managers regarding candidate selection.



Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.

2-4 years of Human Resources, Recruiting, Workforce Planning, and/or Marketing experience.

Experience and comfort with social media advertising are required.


Analytics and metrics experience is a plus.

Experience with SuccessFactors would be considered a plus.

Previous oilfield, manufacturing, or construction experience is a plus.
