Technical Sales Engineer

Role Duties & Responsibilities

The Technical Sales Engineer will drive technology sales across a given customer base and set technology basket. Responsibilities include:

  • Cultivate
    • Build key operational customer relationships utilizing engineering background to collaborate on decisions while complimenting the existing sales team.
    • Field customer requests and relay to applicable team lead.
  • Grow
    • Day to Day sales call support on Automation, Apps, Clarity, PD Direct, and Crown lighting 
    • Responsible for sell up service growth
    • Collaborate with Business Development Manager for pricing levels and any discount guidance
    • Meeting sales quotas and commission goals.
    • Finding new technology customers.
  • Market
    • Facilitating and producing case studies as necessary.
    • Participate in the creation, maintenance and implementation of the marketing plan for all aspects related to the assigned product.
  • Maintain
    • Facilitate Issue Resolution Follow-up Discussions - Internal & Customer Follow-up (Red Flag discussions).
    • Identify service gaps and act as a daily bridge between optimization and sales teams. 
    • Daily customer follow-up.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline
  • Mid-level career
  • 5-10 years relevant Sales working experience.
  • Oil & Gas or Industrial Instrumentation Experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar platform.


Skills & Competencies

  • Must be able to travel up to 25% to remote locations as required.
  • Proficiency in most Microsoft programs, including Project and Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Background working with technical teams
  • Drive to learn and embrace new technology constantly
  • Knowledge of North America land drilling operations.
  • Must be able to work alone or as part of a team.
