The following restrictions apply to all internship candidates:
- Applicants must be available for a non-negotiable start date of Monday May 4, 2026 – Nisku Start date
- Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in the Nisku area, as Precision does not provide internship housing).
- By May 4, 2026, applicants must have completed at least their first year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting).
Summary
As part of a team developing automation solutions for the drilling industry the electrical engineering intern will have the opportunity to develop electrical and controls system solutions based on engineering principles, and gain hands-on experience working with cutting edge technologies to build the next generation of oilfield equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist electrical and computer engineers in the development of modern drilling control systems
- Learn and work with variable frequency drives, power electronics, and low voltage power distribution systems
- Create and maintain bills of materials, assembly drawings, test procedures, and other technical documents
- Work and develop IIOT technology solutions
- Assist electrical systems teams with panel assembly, testing, and commissioning, and various projects
- Employee will work under the engineering licenses of Professional Engineers on the team
- No Managerial responsibilities
Knowledge & Skills
- Motivated hard worker with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable with hands-on electrical work
Education
- Completed 2nd, 3rd or 4th year in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics or equivalent. And pursuing further education in Engineering in the fall
