The Field Development Coach supports safe and effective field operations by coaching, mentoring, and developing new and experienced rig crew members to strengthen technical skills, hazard recognition, and safe work practices. This role works directly alongside crews in the field, reinforcing Precision Drilling’s standards and expectations while driving continuous improvement in performance and safety.

DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Coach and mentor rig crews on safe, efficient work practices, including hazard identification, Step Back, SOV, and risk mitigation
- Observe field activities and reinforce compliance with Work Instructions, Hazard Assessments, and operational procedures
- Develop employee competencies through hands-on coaching, skills assessments, and targeted development plans
- Promote effective communication, crew handovers, safety meetings, and the proper use of operational tools and documentation, including Unvired
- Deliver field and compliance training while supporting broader training initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement efforts
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- High school diploma or GED required;
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract and required field safety certifications, including H2S Alive, First Aid, Fall Protection, Rig Rescue, and Confined Space Entry and Rescue
- Operational drilling experience preferred, ideally as a Driller or above, with demonstrated training, coaching, and strong safety performance
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, rig equipment, HSE practices, company standards, and field procedures; Well Control certification preferred, and TDG certification is an asset
- Effective communicator with strong organizational skills and experience using Microsoft Office, SuccessFactors, and Unvired to support training, coaching, and competency development
