The Maintenance Engineering Technologist plays a critical role in ensuring drilling rig systems are maintained and operated safely, reliably, and in full compliance with regulatory and engineering standards. By prioritizing equipment integrity, risk mitigation, and safe work practices, this role helps protect personnel, prevent unplanned downtime, and enable safe, highperformance drilling operations.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Coordinate timesensitive equipment certifications, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Provide technical support to field and shop operations, including equipment specifications, troubleshooting, and commissioning support
  • Manage equipment inventories, transfers, parts tracking, and associated documentation with a high level of accuracy
  • Create, maintain, and control critical technical documentation, including inspection reports, repair histories, MPI reports, and AutoCAD hydraulic/air schematics
  • Conduct shop and field inspections, participate in final signoffs, support crossfunctional projects, and work occasionally afterhours or weekends as operationally required

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Recent university graduate with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering Technology and 3+ years of related experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Inventor, and Microsoft Office; experience with 3D design software and SAP considered an asset
  • Strong ability to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, schedules, test procedures, and technical bulletins
  • Selfmotivated, safetyfocused team player with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask with minimal supervision
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, clean driving record, and ability to travel; field experience with oil and gas drilling or servicing equipment is an asset
