The Mechanic, Power Systems, is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling heavy-duty diesel engines and related components to ensure safe, reliable equipment performance. This role performs complete engine tear-downs and rebuilds, maintains high standards of workmanship and accountability, and delivers quality repairs through strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving.

DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Diagnose, inspect, test, and troubleshoot heavy-duty diesel engines and related mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, electronic, and control systems
- Performs engine repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds in accordance with manufacturer specifications, service manuals, and technical standards
- Inspect engine components and identify wear, damage, and preventative maintenance requirements to improve equipment reliability
- Prepare repair recommendations, parts requirements, and cost estimates, then document inspections, test results, repairs, and replacement components
- Conduct post-repair testing, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- 5-7 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling diesel engines, with the ability to work independently under limited supervision
- Graduate of a recognized diesel, natural gas engine, or related technical training program; experience using OEM engine diagnostic software required
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, repair procedures, and related mechanical and electrical systems, including fuel, turbo, EGR, charging, and starting systems
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and diagrams
- Excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, equipment, and repair procedures
