Procurement Inventory Coordinator

The Procurement Inventory Coordinator is responsible for procuring commodities, supplies, equipment, and services to be used by the Electrical Group within the Operations Support Centre. They are to utilize their knowledge of materials and systems to purchase goods and services that meet quality requirements and specifications at the most favorable price for the company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Support internal customers on a day-to-day basis
  • Negotiate the purchase of goods and services based on specific requirements by identifying vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, and evaluating the cost of materials, equipment or supplies
  • Maintain purchase requests for identification and immediate action, and ensure that the cost of goods or services is assigned correctly
  • Complete purchase orders, ensuring that they are correctly created, to reflect the requisition and reduce any cause of delayed payments associated with accounts payable and VIM (Vendor Invoice Management)
  • Effective Utilization of procurement modules and Material Masters within the SAP environment
  • Maintain an extensive database for all orders, ensuring that it is up-to-date and provides information for analysis and reporting (i.e., SAP History)
  • Monitor inventory levels in accordance with company demand, complete daily cycle counts, adjust as needed, and assist with annual inventory counts and audits.
  • Establish a delivery schedule, monitor progress, and contact clients to resolve issues. Make alternative arrangements in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize the impact on the organization.

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • 3 – 5 years of previous purchasing experience is required
  • A degree or diploma in a related discipline is considered an asset
  • SAP and MS Office experience is required
  • High attention to detail with a strong ability to multitask
  • Ability to work well with others while under minimal supervision  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong background in providing exceptional customer service
