- Applicants must be available for a non-negotiable start date of Wednesday May 4, 2026.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in the Nisku area, as Precision does not provide internship housing.
- By May 4, 2026, applicants must have completed at least their first year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting).
Summary
As part of a team developing automation solutions for the drilling industry, the Electrical Engineering intern will have the opportunity to develop electrical and controls system solutions based on engineering principles and gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge technologies to build the next generation of oilfield equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist Electrical and Computer engineers in the development of modern drilling control systems
- Learn and work with variable frequency drives, power electronics, and low voltage power distribution systems
- Create and maintain bills of materials, assembly drawings, test procedures, and other technical documents
- Work and develop IIOT technology solutions
- Assist electrical systems teams with panel assembly, testing, and commissioning, and various projects
Knowledge & Skills
Strong programming and computer skills
Basic understanding of database architecture
Self-motivated and disciplined
Highly organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and responsible
Motivated hard worker with excellent communication skills.
Comfortable with hands-on electrical work
Education
Completed 2nd, 3rd year in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics, or equivalent
Experience
Experience with Microsoft products
Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is an asset
