Top Drive Technician
Summary
The Top Drive Technician is responsible for performing regularly scheduled inspections while minimizing unnecessary costs and maximizing safety and efficiency of the Top Drive system
Responsibilities
- Rigging up and removing top drives in a safe and organized manner
- Troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic problems
- Maintaining the spare parts inventory and ensuring spares meet safe operating standards
- Responding to downtime in a professional manner
- Minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance
- Stocking necessary parts for scheduled maintenance
- Addressing concerns and providing viable solutions and alternatives
- Proposing recommendations on maintenance systems management
- Training personnel on proper operation and maintenance
- Both field work and working at the DSC in NISKU will be required
- Upholding Precision’s safety standards at all times
Knowledge & Skills
- Hydraulic experience and computer knowledge required
- High level of comfort working at heights up to 140 feet
- H2S, WHIMIS, First Aid and Fall arrest training is required
- Valid Driver’s License is required
- Reliable personal vehicle is required to facilitate travel between job sites
- Demonstrated mechanical and electronic aptitude
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task, find solutions and establish priorities
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility and flexibility
- Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills, problem solve and work independently
Experience
- Previous oilfield drilling experience is required
- Experience working with Topdrives is required
