Rotational Rig Equipment Technician - Odessa/Midland
The Rig Equipment Technician is responsible for troubleshooting oilfield equipment. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Carry out mechanical maintenance, and repair in a safe and prudent manner

Troubleshoot and repair faulty mechanical equipment and tools.

Assist in maintaining and repairing equipment in other departments when needed.

Identify and respond to abnormal operating conditions and patterns of equipment.

Perform CAT III & IV equipment inspection per Precision Drilling’s standards and document findings/results for proper traceability.

Ensure that requirements concerning regulatory bodies are met in all equipment repair and installation cases.

Comply with the Permit to Work and Isolation System.

Maintain service reports and advise the supervisor on the condition of equipment and spare parts requirements.

Assist in implementing outstanding recommendations from equipment audits as issued by Clients, Regulatory Authorities, or rig management.

Assist in ensuring that all third-party equipment is fit for purpose.

Inform the supervisor and other department heads of any technical problems or limitations that may affect the safe operation of the rig.

Ensure that service, maintenance, and other operational reports are accurate and complete.

Report all incidents, potential hazards, or abnormal situations to the supervisor.

Maintain a safe and organized work area throughout all tasks and on completion of tasks.

Apply the Safe Operations Verification card to all jobs and ensure subordinate personnel is aware of their safety role and yours.

Recognize at-risk behavior or conditions during tasks and call “Time out for safety” when unsure or when the job does not go as planned.
Education & Requirements
High School Diploma or proof of completion of formal education or relevant craft certificate.
Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, and Background Check.
Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Skills & Competencies
Experience diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling drilling rig equipment
Knowledge of diagnosing and troubleshooting hydraulic systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer literacy.
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Understanding of SAP as it relates to position is a plus.
Reading equipment schematics with an excellent understanding of symbols is a plus.
