Project Engineer
The Project Engineer applies knowledge, experience, and training into the tendering, design and development of new Major Capital Projects/Rig Upgrades.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare project plans including manufacturing strategy, schedules, budgets, and technical documents for tenders
- Collaborating with appropriate departments to develop business cases for new rig opportunities
- Performing technical & financial GAP analysis of technical proposals versus tender or contractual documents
- Developing, reviewing, evaluating, and recommending improvements to equipment and practices
- Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation
- Monitoring project plans and performing routine inspection of production schedules
- Review and approve quotation packages & facilitate procurement of drilling rig equipment
- Responsible for customer and executive progress reporting
- Responsible for answering and clarifying technical design questions from equipment manufacturers
- Coordinate, review, and approve third party drilling rig equipment designs
Education and Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
- 7 years or more direct work experience with drilling rigs, drilling components and drilling equipment design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Experience with SAP, Inventor, Ansys and Safi is an asset.
- Experience working in a GCC country is preferred.
This is a residential, non-rotational role based in Kuwait.
